Tuesday, August 19th, 2008Saffie, Josh, and I went to Crestline, Ohio so Saffie could meet my Grandma Tink and several Aunts and Uncles. Saffie was an extremely good girl and enjoyed meeting her new friends.
Saffie met her Great Grandma Tink. . .

. . . Uncle Dave and Aunt Diana . . .

. . . caught up with Uncle Stan and Aunt Carolyn since last seeing them in Austin . . .

. . . and hung out in the Buckeye Basement at Aunt Elaine and Uncle Bill’s.

Thanks Elaine and Bill for putting us up and feeding us all weekend!

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008The Scratch Heard Round the World
Thursday, July 31st, 2008When Elsie was Saffie’s age Mandy would regularly zip across the room at lightening speed to ensure that Elsie didn’t grab, pull, scratch, or otherwise bother Saffie. This video is an example of what happens when no one performs that service.
This was taken during a photo shoot for Jan’s memorial slideshow – the dresses were Christmas presents from Jan (those of you with eagle eyes will note that Saffron’s dress is on backwards – oops!) and the dolls were also presents from Jan.
I am horrified watching this video at the little grin Saffron gives after the initial scratch and by the look Elsie gives me after the second scratch. “Aunt Amy. How could you let this happen. I thought you loved me!”
I do love you Elsie Lane – and I can’t wait to see you this weekend!
Happy Birthday Auntie Em!
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008Saffie was so excited about her Auntie Em’s birthday she performed her new trick on camera!
We love you Emily! Happy Birthday!
Look-A-Likes
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008Ever since Saffron was born people have mentioned to Josh and I how much Saffron looks like Josh. A lot of the time it is said with almost a gasp “Oh! She looks JUST LIKE her Daddy.” Josh and I have joked – who knew that Josh could be such a gorgeous female baby? Many people have noted that Saffron does have some of my features but look at them . . .

as I have blogged before – they are twins.
Earlier this summer Josh’s grandmother Jan passed away. Josh created a wonderful slide show of her life. During the photo gathering stage this photo was discovered and quite a few people who saw it had a similar reaction. Jan and Saffie were twins as well.
My Mom has always been of the opinion that Saffron looked exactly like me when I was a baby. She believed this so much that she joked about taking “her baby home with her” during Saffron’s first week of life. I had a few of my own baby pictures in my head and didn’t think she looked very much like me . . . until I looked at these photos.
No wonder my Mom wanted to take her home!
